Dodger

Luke's friend, Courtney, is very artistic, and she did this lovely little photo of Luke's favorite puppy, Dodger.  Courtney is very good at taking pictures, too, so I'm sure she will be of great help to us in taking later stacked pictures of the pups.

Liver Boy, CC and Black Girl at 4 Weeks and 2 Days Old

Here are quick Iphone shots of liver boy, CC and black girl at 4 weeks and 2 days old.  All four of the pups hear, which is great.  We will be doing BAER testing on them between 7 and 8 weeks old, and they should be ready to go to their new homes at about 9 weeks old, which is around June 30.  The first 4 weeks have passed way too fast, I just love them!  I am going to have an extremely hard time choosing just one to keep.  I will try to make a decision around 7 or 8 weeks on which one will be my show puppy.  Their spotting and ears are so lovely, and they are all very smart.  Luke loves the black boy, which he calls Dodger. Both parents are champions, and Vegas has a coursing ability title, and Victory has 23 grand champion points.  Both parents are bilateral hearing, CERF normal, and hips are done with Victory's being excellent and Vegas' good.  Test results are sent to OFA.  Both parents have awesome pedigrees with Paisley, Atlantis, Tuckaway, Nspird, Dalmino, Troika, Thidwick, and many fine dogs in their backgrounds.  Parent's pedigrees are posted in an earlier blog on this blog site.

Puppies first time outside

Pups are 3 1/2 weeks old and this is their first trip outside.  They were all very interested and curious about everything, but the liver girl was very vocal about everything.  She was making noise the whole time, so I think she wasn't quite ready to be out, yet.  They are eating goats milk and Pro Plan chicken and rice canned puppy food and yogurt and eating a little bit more each day.  Mom Vegas is looking kind of tired, but still being a very good mother.  We now have two of the pups named.  Liver boy is CC and liver girl is Vision, both Victory motorcycle names.  Here are pictures of their first time outside.  They are very friendly and can't wait to get out of their box and go exploring!  They are starting to give kisses and lots of tail wags.  Soooo cute!

Puppy Girls 3 Weeks

The two girls got extra attention tonight.  They are 3 weeks and 2 days old.  Here are some photos of the girls.  Both are very sweet and cute!  They are eating well.  Only the little black boy is not really fond of real food, yet.  Here are photos of the girls.

Puppy Boys at 3 Weeks

Luke took some pictures of just the puppy boys tonight as we played with them on the floor.  The liver boy loves to explore and just goes everywhere when he gets out of the box. The black boy is content to stay by a person and is not an explorer, but is not fearful, either.  Both boys are beautifully spotted, and the liver boy is going to have the Argus and Victory eyebrow.  The puppies are eating Pro Plan chicken and rice canned food with goats milk added, and Vegas is still being an awesome mom.  I think the liver boy will be named Cross Country (CC for short), as there is a Victory motorcycle model by that name, and we thought we might have to take Vegas cross country to get a C section as she was in labor for 2 hours having this big boy.  Haven't settled on names for the others, yet.  I really like this liver boy, he is very beautiful.  The black boy we are just calling Little Vic for now, but that will not be his name.  Luke wants to call him Dodger, not sure about that name, yet.

Luke Scholarships and Victory Checking on His Babies

Luke had a senior assembly at school on Friday where they gave the seniors their scholarships.  We were so overwhelmed with all the wonderful scholarships!  I almost cried.  Luke received the following scholarships:  two years completely paid at Trinity Valley Community College, $500 from Dr. Pepper, $500 from American National Bank of Texas, and $500 from First United Methodist Men-Kaufman.  Thank you so very much to all of the scholarship sponsors!  The gifts are very much appreciated.
Here are some scholarship pictures:

Two Weeks Old Today

Puppy Update:  They are two weeks old today.  All eyes are starting to open, they are growing, more spots are appearing every day, and they are getting so cute.  They are looking really nice.  I'm kinda partial to the two boys.  The liver boy was born with complete nose trim, and is a very vigorous pup and looks like he will have the Argus and Victory beautiful ears!  His spotting is looking wonderful.  The black boy reminds me of Victory, with his spots already being really distinct and his head just reminds me of Vic.  Here are 14 days old pictures, just missing the black girl from these.  I'll post her in the next day or so.  She is very large and looking good, too!

Puppy Update 11 and 13 Days Old

Here are some pictures of the puppies.  The first two pictures are at 11 days old.  The last one is tonight at 13 days old.  Eyes are starting to open, and today they were walking some, instead of all crawling.  New spots are emerging every day.  Getting cuter by the day!  Vegas continues to be a very good mother, and Victory has gotten to sniff and view the pups twice.  When they move, he jumps, so funny!

Spots!

More new spots each day on the pups.  They are 10 days old today.  Luke took this shot with his phone.  Only 3 of the babies made the picture, but I'm posting so we can see the increase in spots!

Last Awards Night in High School and Pups 7 Days Old

We are so proud of our son, Luke.  We went to his last awards night at high school tonight, and as usual he came away with many awards.  He is such a fine young man, and it's hard to believe he is graduating this year.  The time flies by when watching your kids grow up.  Here are some pictures from this evening at school.

Here are his four awards

Luke and Courtney both receiving awards from teacher, Ms. Stringer
Luke is ranked 2nd in his class, Lacey is 1st.  Very smart young people!

Puppy Update- 4 days old

Here are pictures of the Vegas and Victory pups at 4 days old.  We are trying to get over the heartbreak of losing 2 puppies, and praying that the other 4 thrive and grow up to be beautiful, wonderful dogs.  Vegas is a very good mother, but is still determined to dig under the deck and I think she believes the puppies would be better off under the deck than in the nice warm whelping box in the house.  Sigh... Vegas is also refusing all dog food, and will only eat people food right now..This has been stressful.

Puppies have arrived!

Our very first litter sired by CH Atlantis Wildcat Victory (Victory) and CH Dalmino's Victory Vegas (Vegas) arrived 1/2 yesterday and 1/2 today.  The biggest puppy was born first at 9:00 P.M. yesterday, and I was really sweating it whether she was going to need emergency help.  It took her 1 3/4 hours of pushing to get the first puppy out and he was a very large, vigorous, and intelligent liver boy.  He immediately latched on and started sucking, and has no problem finding his way to food!  The second puppy born at 9:15 P.M. yesterday is the runt of the litter, another liver boy. He is not sucking very well, and not finding his way to the food, or even accepting help finding his way.  I'm worried about him.  The 3rd puppy was born at midnight, and I think is a black and white girl.  The 4th puppy, a boy was born at 12:10 A.M., the 5th a boy at 1:00 A.M., and the 6th, a black and white girl at 2:00 A.M.  We finally got some rest at 4:00 A.M., and up again at 6:00 A.M. to start the day.  Having puppies is not for the faint of heart!  Vegas is being an awesome mother, cleaning the pups, staying in the whelping box with them, feeding them, and just being a very wonderful and concerned mother, but accepting all attention from us, her family.  Here are a couple of pictures.
