BAER Testing and Available Puppies

We took the puppies in for BAER hearing testing yesterday.  The three show puppies are bilateral hearing, they hear in both ears.  CC, the pet liver boy, is unilateral, he hears in one ear.  We are pleased with the results, and we had already determined the hearing status ourselves, but wanted to confirm it.  Two puppies are available for new homes.  Vision, a liver show girl, who is so beautiful, with exceptional spotting, and sweet, sweet personality.  She is such a kisser and hugger, just like her Dad, and loves to be held.  She is also a good eater, the largest of the pups right now.  Here are a couple of photos from today of Vision.  You can see her stacked photos from last week further down in the blog.

Then, we have CC, a pretty liver boy, who is very sweet and active.  He is spotted beautifully, and the breeding on these puppies is fabulous.  They are grandkids of very famous dogs, CH Tuckaway Winged Foot (Jack), GCH Paisley Nspird by Broadway (Argus), CH Dalmino's Whoopdedo, and CH Atlantis and Read All Over.  Their pedigrees are really great.  CC is available to a pet home.  The puppies are seven and a half weeks old now, and should be ready for new homes next weekend.  We are working on their housetraining, and they are doing very well.  Here are some photos of CC from today.  You can see his stacked photos from last week further down in the blog.

Puppies at 5 1/2 weeks old

Here are pictures of the boys at 5 1/2 weeks old with Ann doing the stacking.  Ann will be getting one of the puppies, when they are nine weeks old.  They got their first shots today at 6 weeks old, and all got a clean bill of health from our vet.  They all weighed between 8 1/2 and 9 pounds.  Their dew claws are done, first worming is done, and first shots are done.  Next up is BAER testing next week to determine whether they are all bilateral hearing.  They all do hear, but will get confirmation on unilateral or bilateral.  They are so cute, it is really hard not to spend all waking hours at home with them.  They play ball like crazy, Dodger is aptly named, because he loves to carry around and chase a tennis ball.  We are starting to work on house training, trying to take them out of their pen when they wake up, so they can potty outside.  They are little peeing and pooping machines right now.  Going through tons of newspapers and puppy pads.  Lori Finlayson and Deby Harber are coming down this weekend to help me evaluate them, so hopefully after this weekend, I'll know which one I'm keeping.

Lori has been so helpful to me in my learning to show the dogs, and now through the breeding, whelping, and evaluation of the puppies.  She is a wonderful teacher!

Rog and his girls

This photo was when the pups were 4 weeks old.  Rog and his girls!  Isn't it funny how the men love the girl dogs, and how the girls love the male dogs the best?  My best pals have been my male dogs, and Rog always says his best buddies have been the females.

Also, good news, both Victory and Vegas have their CHIC numbers.  Check them out on www.offa.org.  Search for their names, Atlantis Wildcat Victory and Dalmino's Victory Vegas.

Graduation and Socializing Puppies

Luke's graduation was the perfect opportunity to socialize puppies.  We had so many visitors, young and old, and the pups got attention from almost everybody.  Morgan cried when she had to go home, because she loved being here with the puppies so much!  Here are some pictures from the last week when the puppies were 4 to 4 1/2 weeks old.   Puppies are 5 weeks and 2 days old today.  What little sweethearts they are.  Vegas is weaning them, she doesn't care to have the little biters drinking milk from her the last couple of days.  Their teeth are extremely sharp!
